Kids.

Kids.

I don’t like them.

Ok. I know it’s not always fair to blame the kids for the way they run around a department store screaming and get in my way. Just like I know it’s the parents fault when they let their kids color on the walls in crayon at the restaurant.

The weirdest thing about my antipathy is…my Mom says I was such a brat when I was a kid that I should feel a kinship for them, not want to stomp on them.

:O The problem is that most children are smarter then their parents, they know when they can get away with being bad. I don’t spend a lot of time with kids these days, I did my part for humanity raising four of them, but we never had the screaming and running and pushing in malls. Because of the way most kids behave these days I fear I will never become a Grandma! :doze:

    You said it sister!
My favorite memory of the brattiness of kids is when I was grocery shopping and a little boy puked right in front of me. :plain: The bad thing was his mom knew he was going to do it. That was 3 years ago and I’m still traumatized.

  3. Yes, I’ve got to admit that I don’t like kids either… I wish I didn’t feel that way, because it doesn’t feel right to dislike kids… but it’s my gut feeling.

And *I* too was the most hateful brat when I was a child… But I think I still am!!!! 😀

  4. LOL–I totally understand! I don’t like kids, either. I adore my son like nothing else, and with the exception of the only daughter of my best friend (the one who had the stroke,) I still don’t like kids.

And you know what bites? I have ONE child. One. So I always get the shaft when I trade babysitting with people because they usually have two or three. Grr.

😎 I can wait till my kids are ready. If my oldest became a parent at the same age I did then I would have a 10 year old grandchild. If I want to spend time with kids I can visit my brother or youngest sister they still have preschoolers. I just to say I liked kids from the time they start responding till they got mouthy…hee hee, but watching my 10 year old neice give her Mom what for is funny. My sister was a brat!

As a parent w/2 half grown boys I ALWAYS notice how other children act in public (and believe me mine ain’t angels).

Dianna is right and I don’t underestimate my children. And for the most part, I try not to treat them like children but young humans ;). We went school shopping and my youngest was running around. I snatched him up by the nose

I never thought I’d have kids or get married and I damned sure didn’t sign on to do this sh*t alone. I don’t put up with any BS from my boys and I can’t abide disrespectful children!!
Sorry for the rant. This is a big hot button for me.
