Disappointment

Well, after such good news yesterday I guess I’m due some bad, huh?

My collection of three erotica short stories was rejected by AQP today. I know these are a couple of my older stories, but I still think they’re publishable, and I hate the idea of them just sitting on my computer. I do have to admit that I was told the rejection had NOTHING to do with my writing, only the “type” of material it contained. And I was informed any future submissions are ‘more than welcome’ so I don’t feel too bad. 😉

They want erotic romance, not erotica, even though the Amber Heat line is touted as Erotica. I can see their point, I do like to push the envelope a little, but it doesn’t make me feel any better. 🙁

    Thanks, Jordan. It actually was a good rejection, but I admit, now I wonder if they’ll like the sci-fi one. :doze:

    Oh well, I’ll write it the way I see it. If they ask, I’m willing to tone it down. But I’d rather be asked to tone it down, that heat it up. 😛

    Thanks, Jaq. I mentioned I could work with 2 of the 3 stories, (one wouldn’t work no matter what.) and I’ll see what he says. I doubt it though as he really didn’t think they fit into the style of AQP. I won’t even bother submitting these aprticular stories to LSB as I know they wouldn’t fit there. They are erotica, and not really erotic romance. I just thought I’d try the heat line because the website calls the heat line erotica. My Bad. I shoulda read their guidelines closer. :blush:

    As for Black Lace, they’re not interested in a single author anthology.

    However, I’m not really willing to pick up another publisher. Not with the three I deal with regularly already. I’ll probably just hold onto them until I’m a Best seller someday and then people will be begging to publish them. 😉

    I know you said you didnt want another publisher but the more publishers the more your name gets out there. There are so many different ones that like Elloras Cave, Extasy, Whiskey Creek, Venus Press, Trisk, and the list goes on. Don’t keep them on your computer. That’s a waste of your talent…jmo
