After working all weekend at finishing up my sci-fi short story, tentatively titled ABDUCTION, I decided I deserved reward. My TBR pile has grown and it was time to make a dent in it. So today, I read Lynn Viehl’s IF ANGELS BURN.
Check out the dark and sexy guy on the cover! It defintely caught my eye on the bookshelf the other day. 😛
While there wasn’t enough sex in it for me, (what can I say, I’d love for there to be multiple steamy sex scenes in EVERY story 😉 ),I have to admit, it was a truly engrossing read. IF ANGELS BURN is told from the various veiwpoints of well developed characters. Not only is it it obvious LV did intensive research, but the appealing secondary characters and unique storyline come together to make you see the complete and whole picture in a satisfying end. If you want a new series to get hooked on, pick up the first of the Darkyn novels and you’ll be hooked. I am. 😀
Sasha, Did you think it had a HEA ending? The reason I ask is that one reviewer said she thought the book was great, but it left her with a feeling of hopelessness.
A HEA? Maybe not exactly. But I didn’t see it as a traditional typ eof romance either. There was more to the story than the romantic aspect.
If I had to classify it (whic I hate to doother than to sayit was a good book) I wouldn’t call it a romance novel really. I would call it a Mainstream or Paranormal WITH romantic elements, since there was so much more to the story than the romance. In fact, I thought it ended very well, the H and h clearly have a future together, and it hints at the start of the next story in the series.
