Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

My Mom always tells me what a “handful” I was as a kid. As a teenager, we fought a bit, but I always knew my Mom loved me, and when I graduated high school at 17, I left home. NOT because of my parents. We didn’t fight that much, I moved out because we lived in small town Saskatchewan and I wanted to move to a big city.

Yet, moving out, and far from my parents, was the best thing that ever could’ve happened to my relationship with my Mother. Because I was so lonely when I first moved out, yet determined to stay on my own, I called home often. Two, sometimes three times a week I’d call home and ask advice from my Mom and tell her how things were going. That first year away from home was when SHE went from being my mom, to my Best Friend.

She taught me to always look out for number one, because no one was going to do it for me, and that I could do anything I wanted, and be a success as long as I wanted it enough. When I went back to college, she supported me, when I quit college after the first year to bartend, she supported me. When I said I wanted to travel the world, alone with only a backpack, she supported me. Not to say she didn’t call me crazy a few times…but she always supported my choices.

Now, I try to be there for her the way she was there for me. She’s a great Mother, a talented artisan, and my best friend.

Happy Mothers Day to all of you that love and support your kids. It is a precious gift that they will always hold dear.

Hello! Yep, I’m a mom of two darlin’ children. Natasha is 6 and Jamie is 4. They were *really* good children today! (Unlike yesterday!) I also saw my mum today… she’s turning 60 years old this coming Friday and I completely forgot how old she was! Whoa! That’s means I’m getting old too. Anyway, I’d love to be entered into your draw for a book. thanks so much~Jo

I have 2 daughters – 1 is 15 and the other is 12 years old. The 12 year old is easy, the 15 year old has her moments but all in all we had a great day, went out for dinner with my In laws and received a boquet of yellow tulips and a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Yummy!!! Hope you had a great day. I would love to be a winner!

best gifts today my son made me laugh and smile
and my daughter made me cry when she told me she loved me.

would love to win a book.

  4. What a lovely tribute to your mother, Sasha. I know my relationship with my own mother improved after I had children. Could be because she loves to sit back and watch my children torture me, just like I tortured her.

Happy Mother’s Day to you and your mother. 🙂
