So I’ve been working very hard for the last couple weeks. Ok, the last couple months really. But these past two weeks I’ve accomplished a lot. I finished THE CRIB, sent it in, and heard back from my editor at Kensington. HE LOVED IT!! :hehe: Yay!!
I also did some website updates. (added LOSING IT to the home page) Okay, okay, I tried to do some website updates, but I ended up crying help to Sylvia Day. She was nice enough to rescue me. Not only did she rescue me, but she agrees that my webpages are possesed. They do change by themselves and it’s not just me that they’ll screw up on. π
AND I got a lot of work done on BOUND, the single title I’m working on now. Not as much as I wanted to get done, but still, the page numbers are getting higher, and that’s a beautiful thing to see.
Some friends are going out for dinner tonight, and then to a bar. I’ve been invited. I still have a lot to do to catch up on where I should be with my stories, so I’m only going to do one. Dinner, or the bar. Which should I do??
OH! And because I feel like it…I’m offering up a free download of GYPSY HEART. If you want to enter the draw to win, vote on dinner, or bar, in the comments section, and tell me why I should do that one.
I’ll announce the winner here on the blog on Sunday!
Take Sasha up on that Gypsy Heart offer, people! It’s on my keeper, um, hard drive. π
I agree with Eve! Bar!! Go out and cut lose…drink plenty, party hardy, and get laid! That is an order!!!
Congrats on the editor’s thumbs up, hon!
I vote bar too. You can eat while you’re writing–but you can’t act silly, get sloshed, & oogle attractive men. π
Thank GOd Kristen! I was starting to thinkI was th only one who liekd to go to dinner. I lvoe to go eat and laugh and chat with friends. PLus, I really have no selfcontrol when it comes to drinking, so if I start, not only do I lose tonite for writing, but tomorrow, because I WILL be hung over.
My vote goes to dinner. Why? Because you’ve been working so hard and you deserve some time out (which, btw is a fantastic ice cream dessert here Down Under!). Also, take the opportunity to catch up and reconnect with your friends. Spending so much time in front of the PC can get lonely and sometimes, good intentioned or not, friends think we’re ignoring them!
And who knows what gorgeous hunks you might spy across the room, with whom you can flirt and play! π
Go get ’em, girl!
I would vote for dinner myself. I think you can have a nice time out with friends then come home and settle down to have some time for yourself. Personally, I find night time to be a great tome to think and reflect on things as well as write. Its quiet, not many people bugging you and you have the option to sleep when you get too tired.
Yay on The Crib – which is one of the reasons I pick bar – much more celebratory! Second reason – you can eat dinner at home, but drinking and celebrating at home is okay – but it’s sort of like sex, it’s okay alone but often better with someone else π
π I am with the other girls, u can either eat at home or order something in the bar…I already have a copy of GH all printed out too.
A while back I missplaced my journal, I had been using it to write in when I am away from my puter…yesterday I got serious and really starting turning things over to look, it was under a package of paper, and when I started paging through there was a short story that I didn’t remember starting, so I finished it. π
Leave it to me to buck the trend. I say go to dinner but then I’m Italian and dinner is a much more social event. So…if you want to hang out and chat with friends and eat some yummy grub, I say dinner.
If you’re looking to scope out some man flesh, then head to the bar. Be careful though, you know how easily one hour at the bar turns into not getting home until 4am. π
Oh, I agree with Kristen. Going to dinner is the best way to fit the celebration in and get your writing done. Most efficient. You have to eat anyway, and this takes care of that! The best of all possible worlds – someone brings you food,:D you get to visit and celebrate with friends (with a drink or two if you go to a place with a liquour license or take a bottle) AND get home at a reasonable hour to get some work done. Yes, I’m practical, but there’s a method to my practicality: when you’re caught up, it will be time for another celebration, and you can go to the restaurant AND a club then. π Whatever you do, enjoy!
I vote for dinner. You can have a nice Pinot Noir with anything. So you get to have a drink and eat too! Plus, you’re a classy dame and will have the all the guys at the restaurant givin’ ya the eye anyway! π Listen to your Auntie C.C. And wear red! It’s like waving a red flag at a bull, they won’t know what hit ‘um! π
