Grumpy

Grumpy

I’m grumpy today.

It’s one of those days when I wonder what crazy thing made me think I could possibly make a living at being a writer. I’m so slow when I write, I can’t type, my characters aren’t talking to me, my sales suck, I’m gaining weight again.

You know, one of those days when I could eat chocoate all day long and still be grumpy and depressed. Normally I’d just go back to bed and will myself a pleasant dream, or go to the gym and hitthe heavy back for a while. But I can’t afford the time to do that right now. I’m still behind on my commitements. What do you do when you’re grumpy, and you know it? Anyone have a quick fix. One that doesn’t involve sex as my current boy toy is unavailable?

I’m thinking Pizza, or french fries orMcdonalds.
I’d love to travel. I ‘d love to grab my backpack and go. I could write while I travelled. Who wants to take care of my cat?

Anybody?

  1. I’m with Amber…I go for a long walk when I’m grumpy…except I usually have to wait until I have a minder for the little darling…

Another thing I do when I’m down, I watch my favorite movies…if I need a cry I’ll watch one like Gladiator, or LOTR, and sob like a friggin’ baby, but damn I feel better after that.

    And WE LOVE YOU SASHA!!!

    😀 :hehe:

  2. Masturbation; sex with someone you *really* love. HA!

I did it twice today and I wasn’t even GRUMPY!

    Maybe that’s why? ;-P

And Tuesday’s a great TV night! Especially tonight, because we’re watching the "Survivor: Africa Finale" on The Game Channel. Yes, it’s a repeat but we never saw the Africa one before! Followed by TWO "Where are they now" shows about the cast.

Heaven! Glad you’re feeling better, Sasha!

  3. Sasha, you sound like you need some *me* time. When I feel that way I reserve a couple of hours where I just ignore the world and try to pamper myself (which doesn’t happen much ordinarily!) I have an aromatherapy bath with music in the background, maybe a facial or manicure, candles, wine. Sending hugs and I hope you feel better soon.

  4. Super duper (((hugs)))

Sasha, I find when the writing’s not flowing, I need to turn away from it – even if it’s for a ten minute breath of fresh air.

You know Murphy’s Law ~ the minute you aren’t available to your characters and muses, the second you’re busy doing YOUR thing, they’re knocking on your brain wanting back in.

I say, make ’em wait (but not too long, eh? :P) until they’ve got something really decent to say.

Oh, and I’m with Dianna ~ golf is an amazing elixir for frustration. Whack the crap out of that little white ball ~ all while enjoying a nice stroll through sculpted greens. Incredible.

    You know we’re with you.

  5. Grumpiness?

Unless they’re the type who make me feel better, I avoid all people. It’s a dangerous time.

Everyone’s right–physical activity is good. A walk, the gym, even cleaning house (yuck). 🙁

And writing can be good therapy. Grumpy? Kill somebody. Yeah, kill a character or two, or a few. Doesn’t have to be something you’ll sub somewhere. It’s just for you. Kill them, kill them all! Find new ways to kill, kill with a vengeance, kill with glee, just KILL, KILL, KILL!!!!!!!!

Hope you feel better, sweetie.

Wow!! Everyone take five slow steps back away from Raine. hahaha Just kidding! 😛 When I find that the words just aren’t coming to me, I read. Usually a few pages…just about the time I’m really interested in the story…my muses come running back begging me not to abandon them for the hunk in the current book in my hand. Hope everything gets better for you. :hehe:

There is nothing a Bic Mac can’t cure. Quit being a grumpus. Hey, this will cheer you up – I am off to Argentina for 10 days. Sun, beach, drinks and hotties. Oh wait, that probably won’t cheer you up, just me. Well, I’ll show you pictures when I get back….and maybe a "movie" too. HAHA, no one has any idea what we mean when we make that reference…….HAHAHA

First off – you can too write – I don’t waste my money buying books written by authors who can’t write!!!
Secondly, go on to the gym – what are you getting done sitting around moping anyway? Or take the walk. Or have sex – you got fingers don’t you? Put on some music that brings back wonderful memories, or a movie that always makes you laugh. Call up a friend who can always bring a smile to your face.

The walk thing works, but on a gloomy day it is harder get motivated for a walk. I was a little on edge this morning, but after a walk with the hounds felt better. ViviAnna I used to take a lot of walks with my first born in a sluggly or stroller.
It was a really nice day here so I went golfing this afternoon, went the first nine with a very nice gentleman 😀 he was almost 2x my age.
