I made a mistake in yesterdays blog post by saying TROUBLE was going to be BOUND’s sequel. That was the wrong word so I figure it’s time to sort things out…
When I wrote BOUND I didn’t plan to continue it in a series manner at all. However, I’ve had several requests for more Joe and Katie that’ve made me think. (plus, I do love them) Strangely enough, Karl, the delctable Mr.Purr, is the one who comes to MY mind when I think of a sequel. I want to get to know him a lot better. But, it’s not quite his turn yet.
All of my Berkley stories have become part of a loosely connected series where each story can stand alone, but those who read them all will see the connections. Let me lay it out for you with what is written and what is planned.
BOUND is already written (obviously) so you know the characters in it.
Next up is WATCH ME, (already written) a category length novel, in the KINK anthology featuring myself and Saskia Walker that will be released in Feb 07. The married couple Bethany and Grant Mack are the main characters, and a girl named Samair is a very small secondary character. However, Samair is the main character in TROUBLE, my second single title novel for Berkley, and Karl, the sexy Mr.Purr from BOUND, is a secondary character in it. You’ll learn a little more about Karl in this book, and hopefully be even more intrigued. I’m writing TROUBLE right now and it’s scheduled for release in Sept 07. (I’m hoping it will get moved up, as BOUND was originally scheduled for release in Nov of 06 and was bumped to July…so who knows? š ) My third single title novel for Berkley is tentatively titled WICKED, and will be Karl’s story.
That’s all I have laid out for now, although I do have an idea for continuing the series in a way I think readers would really enjoy. But, I’m not very good at planningthat far ahead, so for now, it stays as just a kernal of an idea in my mind. I won’t say Katie and Joe will show up in TROUBLE or not, but I also won’t say the don’t. At the end of the month, when it’s done,I can answer that question though.
PS: I will say that if my new idea sells, you will definitely see more of them in the future. š
I love doing stories and books where characters from other stories and books turn up! In the novel I’m writing now, the hero and heroine from my *last* book turn up in supporting but quite pivotal roles.
Your BOUND universe sounds like lots of fun…
love
Wendy
:great: miss white i think you are right. when i finished bound(for the sixth time lol) you ended it just right. there is nothing else to tell about them. us readers know how she feels for him and it would be nice to see them do a cameo in your other book but not make them the main characters, it would be sad for me to see them apart when they so belong together. it will be nice to get to know who karl really is but he did not belong with katy lol. he was not her type. man is liek i am her mother when i read the book. lol well any route you deside to take your readers will be there lol.:attack::angel:
Thanks Ladies!!
I do love to revisit characters, and I think it’ll work out really well. *fingers crossed*
