70 Days of Sweat
Brava author Alison Kent and some others have initiated a writing challenge, and I am in! It’s perfect timing.
The goal? Write a single title novel in 70 days. I love it!
As Alison says:
Say you’re writing a 100,000 word single title. 70 days at 1500 words per day (approx 6 pages) is 98,000 words total. Say you’re writing a 60,000 word series romance. 70 days at 900 words per day (approx 4 pages) is 63,000 words total. Writing 4 – 6 pages every day for 70 days is a schedule anyone who calls themselves a pro can handle easily!
I just heard about this today, so I’m a day late/behind..but hey, My book is only 90k so I’m still good. 🙂
Okay, my book:
ASK EVE, a 90k single title erotic romance featuring Eve Samson , a Vancouver advice columnist who sometimes has trouble following her own advice, and the men who help, and hinder her.
Once a week I’ll post what I have left to write. 🙂
Starting now, Uhmm, I have 89k left.
Okay, On a more personal note for all of this. Most of you who are regular visitors here know I’ve sorta been struggling lately. And Yes, I still am. Stephanie Tyler talks about Wanting It Here and her post reminds me of the passion and drive I had just a couple of years ago. I’m a big believer in “If you want it, go get it.” and I’ve always gone after everything I’ve ever wanted – and gotten almost all of it. I’ve been very blessed in my life, but at the same time, I still feel a little lost at times.
Why? Because what if I’m not sure what it is that I want anymore?
I mean, sure I can go after whatever I want, and get it, but … without direction, where does the drive and passion go? I can tell you right now, my drive and passion – for a lot of things – has disappeared. I’m hoping the “Just Do It” part of my mentality will kick start my passion again. And no, this isn’t only about writing for me. It’s about every aspect of my life. Health, writing, work, travel, family, romance. It’s about finding out what’s next for me, and what exactly I want.
So, I’m hoping that by focusing on one aspect , and bringing the passion back into my work/writing, that the fire will start to burn inside me again. The fire for everything.
Glad you’re in on Sweat70, Sasha! I am too!
I’m finding it really motivational. 😀
I hear ya Sasha and I feel for you as well. I haven’t been around much myself and haven’t been myself lately either.
Maybe I’m stagnant as well. I think you have the right idea though. Maybe one will kick start the other and off you will be going again.
I just pre-ordered Trouble – I don’t like to pre-order way to early because it sucks waiting for it. I LOVE that story – oh yeah well of course you wrote it….. no surprises there – I’ll be seeing the gals in Michigan soon and so lookout – I’ll have Sasha on everybodies brain there. LOL!
You DO know the difference between a little shot and a big shot right?
The little shot kept on shooting!!!!!!!!!!
Keep writing! It will happen.
:great:
Yay Wendy! Off we go!! :attack:
Hey Debbie! Thanks for the pre-order, every one counts! Feel free to write up a review for amazon too! LOL I know you’ll tell everyone what you thought and I love you for it. Word of mouth is better than an ads or promotions I coudl do! :great:
