I’ve adopted a new cat.
Yep, my first cat, Mystery, was one I was watching for a friend three years ago, and the friend never came back. So she’s mine. I’ve never been a real cat person. I grew up with dogs, and I love dogs. But I couldn’t just get rid of the cat…and after a small adjustment period, I fell in love.
Well, my mom wanted to go to the pet store the other day, and in the back of the pet store is an adoption shelter for cats and dogs…and I saw this gorgeous grey cat and fell in love. Her name is Scarlet, and I left that day hoping someone would adopt her, but not me, cuz there are times I don’t even want the cat I have! Anyway, this cat stayed in my head. She’s a year and half old, so chances of her getting adopted were pretty slim. Tonight I just worked a short dinner shift, so when it was over I went over to the store and Scarlet was still there.
Now Scarlet is in my extra bedroom, with the door closed getting used to her new home. Mystery is parked right outside that door, guarding the rest of the house from the intruder.
So this week will be a bit …uhmmm…. interesting around here. Wish us luck!
PS: I’ll post pictures later
I think she still looks like a kitten, don’t you? They said she was a year and a half, and she’s had babies.
Congratulations and welcome to Scarlet. I have a fondness for grey kitties.
It’s funny how some of them will just steal your heart, though.
Hehe. Welcome Scarlett. Keep us posted on Mystery and Scarlett’s first meeting.
She’s at a good age. I wish Neme was a year and a half.
Congrats on the new addition.
Welcome Scarlett! I have two cats and a dog, all gotten at different times. Some times the bonding goes smoothly between them and other times… well lets hope for the best! 😆
Keep me updated. Remember, its not going to be easy. :ko:
I’ve gone into the store and looked at the cats before with my mom, (She wants an all black one) but this one, she just got me. They say she’s had a hard life. I guess she had a home but when she got pregnant they just let her go, and she was stray for a while. The adoption shelter had her when she had the babies, so she couldn’t have been stray fro too long, but as you can see in her picture, she’s missing half an ear.
It was her eyes that got me though. Sometimes she looks evil, but at all times she looks intelligent. 😆
Scarlett is gorgeous! :inlove:
Awww, she’s so pretty. :inlove: I hope the kitties adapt to each other asap.
She’s beautiful. Very sleek and aware. Congrats.
Scarlet is lovely. Very intelligent looking indeed.
I hope the kitties get used to each other soon. I bet they could be great friends. Or terrible enemies. LOL I know, I know. I’m not helping.
Congrats Sasha she’s beatiful good lluck with Mystery poor baby lol
Awwwe! Scarlet’s adorable. Her story sounds like Etienne’s mother’s story.
I’m glad she found a safe and wonderful forever home with you!
She’s gorgeous Sasha. I hope she adjusts well and that her and Mystery become close friends!!
Aw, she’s beautiful! Give them both some catnip, that should help ’em adjust. 😉

So far so good with them *knock on wood*
I want them to be freinds.
Thanks everyone, for the welcome. 🙂
She looks like Nat’s (may she rest in peace) Isis. She is a tall one : )

Maybe she’s Nat’s in a second life?
