Lynn Viehl is one of the few writes around that I know of that is so very brave and honest with her blog. She’s know as Paperback Writer and has a lot of experience. I loved her Jessica Hall stories and her Darkyn series is standout. (and one day I will read the Star Doc book s I have on my TBR pile )
I started reading her blog because she was one of the few writers I could find that were vocal about how detrimental it can be for a writer to get so wrapped up in the politics of organizations, or to buy into all the hype of contests and “how to’s”. She’s always been a supporter of the writer just writing the story and not trying to follow what everyone else, or the market, is doing. I’m probably not expressing myself very clearly here, but those of you that read her blog get what I mean.
PBW is all about the writer’s right to tell the story they want to tell it. All about following the characters and be true to the story, and not to the market, or what the fad or trend is. So not only am I fan of her stories, I’m a fan of hers. Which makes it so fucking amazing to me that she dedicated the final story in one of her free book series to me.
Worthy is the first, Willing is the second, adn recently made available is Wanted.
The stories are in PDF and take us on a little trip into the Darkyn World. Check them out. And for more free reads from the very talented lady.. scroll down the sidebar of her blog until you see FREEBIES.
