Life has suddenly gotten super busy. LOL I know it’s partly Valentine’s Day stuff and should calm down after the weekend, but I wanted to say I’m sorry I missed the Slim Camp post today.
Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year where I work. Not only is it a popular place, but for years and years we’ve done a lot of fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation on this day. We sell Heart Shaped pizzas, and because we only do this once a year, and a dollar from every pizza sold goes to charity, we sell a lot!
Plus, see all those Red hearts behind us girls in the photo at the top? We sell those for the first two weeks of February ($1 each) to raise money. They’re just silly paper hearts, and we get customers to write a message on them, and we hang them on the wall. As of the time when I let work today, our place had sold over 4,200. That’s the restaurant and bar combined. We’re hoping to hit 5k.
While I’m not a fan of the commercialism of this ‘holiday’ I enjoy this part of it. Our team at work today was great, and despite being nuts busy things went very smooth. It’s always good when everyone can laugh and smile in times of stress.
And my feet are killing me. I swear, I’d do anything for the man who would come give me a foot massage. π
PS: Go congratulate Beth on her 2 WINS in the CAPA’s.
YAY Beth! :jump:
Sasha…thanks for sharing the pics…looks like a fun group!!
And how cool you guys make V day into a fundraiser for the heart and stroke foundation. That is awesome!!
I bought heart shaped pizzas for the homestead today…we have a Papa Murphy’s up the street, and bought a few. But they don’t donate part of the profits. π₯
I’ll have to suggest it for next year!!
What great smiles! Sounds like an exhausting but very worthwhile day spent. Have a good relax doing whatever you want Sasha π
That’s awesome! Y’all should totally get the best restaurant award for that. The pics look great BTW – look at beautiful you in the middle.
I had a hair disaster today (ugh) so I’m still in shock… But tonight is book club so I’m going to drown my sorrows in a margarita (or two).
I think it’s a GREAT way to spend Valentine’s Day.
And Beth congrats from me!!!!
I like the idea of the fundraising with hearts for hearts on Valentines day…I actually received my 1st present from my boyfriend of 9 years, for valentines…a box of chocalates and an unsigned card..his boss also sent a dozen red roses and signed the card from both of them…which pissed Ricky off because he had planned on flowers I guess. Where he planned on getting them? Who knows, probably the grocery store.
