So yesterday was a very wacky day for me. I worked lunch – and it was a failry busy one. However, it didn’t really matter how busy it was because my brain just would not engage.
Let me explain. I can normally take food and drink orders from tables – sometimes several at a time- without writing the orders down, and still not screw up. I can do this probably because the restaurant I work for has been one I’ve worked for on and off for 18 years, so I know their menu,. as well as computer systems pretty good. (Oh, and the bar/pub/lounge I work at right now is part of the building, sharing a kitchen and menu with the restaurant. Make sense?)
Anyway, Yesterday my brain would not engage.
I’d go to a table of two and take thier drink order. Just thier drink order. And by the time I was back in the service area I’d have forgotten what they wanted to drink. :bored:
It happens every now and then. Lack of concentration, whatever. Anyway, afetr my shift was over it continued into my own home life. The most notable time, I went to the kitchen to refil my waterbottle (I use a refillable Nalgene bottle) put it down, continued to the washroom. Then went to get my bottle before going back to my desk. And couldn’t find it.
I looked everywhere for that water bottle. The kitchen, the fridge, the bathroom, even my bedroom(just in case). I looked on my desk, under my desk. I looked everywhere. I gave up and went back to work. Then half an hour later was hungry, and went to put a microwave dinner out of the freezer, and found my water bottle. 😆
Seriously, no clue what was up with me. So this morning, when I sat down to work, and my brain wouldn’t engage, and my muse was in hiding, I went to the gym for the first time in three months. So far it’s worked. My brain feels awake once again. :jump:
What works to wake you up?
Before posting this comment I forgot the word trailer. LOL. I couldn’t for the life of me remember the word. 😐
Le sigh. I don’t know what it is but it happens to me sometimes too. 🙁
I may have to join the gym. Hopefully it will help wake up my brain too.
Hugs Emma
Sounds like you need some sex… :great: HE HE HE–or is it garlic that’s good for your memory?
Hey Emma, I’m sticking with my gym theory for a while. Might help me lose a few pounds too!
Renee, I like the way you think. 😉
Fresh air helps.
Green tea sometimes.
And thinking of something to be excited about. 😀
Red Bull, lots and lots of red Bull, or Tim Hortons Coffee, I swear there is something addictive in that coffee, Those two get my brain engaged, unfortunatly I’m so wound on caffiene I can’t sit still to write *s*
