Customers.

Even when I’m a rich and famous author, (And I will be one day…I am determined!! πŸ™‚ ) Chances are I will still bartend part time. Why? Because as much as I think bartenders, and waitresses, (and cooks) are underappreciated by anyone who hasn’t worked the job. . . I love it.

Ok, I don’t really love the customers that come in and think I’m their SERVANT instead of their SERVER, and I don’t really like the ones that take out their bad day on me….but I love the ones that come in and smile, and share their happiness. I could be having the ‘night from hell’ and all it takes is one sincere smile and my night gets better.

So smile . . . it can work wonders that even you don’t know about. πŸ˜€

  1. see, and I’m just the opposite – after working retail for years I came to the conclusion that people basically suck and ran screaming.

Of course, I ran directly to teaching teen-agers, which shows you how smart I am.:P

Now I stay home and avoid people all together πŸ˜€ ‘cept you guys, of course…

I agree with Steph! Retail…bartending…customer service…anything to do with serving people at minimum wage or more is pure hell about 75% of the time. But like you Sasha, I do appreciate the ones that seem to appreciate what I’m doing. πŸ˜‰
