I had to do it.

I had to do it.

First off, I had to buy myself a new toy, errrr… computer. Yes, I had too. You see, I’m a professional writer. Uh huh, and I need a computer that works.

Okay, okay, so my iBook still works fine, it’s just getting really loaded down, and slow. I keep installing more memory, but it’s not helping. And it needs a new keyboard cuz some letters are starting to not work all the time. (mostly the vowels E and A) . Both of those are easy to fix, after all, it is a MAC. But when I went in to purchase a portable Hard Drive to use to back up all my file, I got seduced by the new 20 inch 2.4 GHz Beauty. It’s so pretty, and shiny, and BIG. Yep, I like ’em big. :mrdevil:

So, I have a new work computer.

And of course, I had to show it to my parents when they came to get me for my Dad’s 65th Birthday dinner. Now let me tell you, I LOVE my Mom. She rocks. She taught me the most important lesson ever. To love myself, to look after myself, and that I could do anything if I set my mind to it. Okay, so she taught me a few good lessons. Anyway, Mom is not a fan of computers. They scare her. She rocks the computer at the store where she works, but she doesn’t like home computers. I keep telling her she needs to play on a MAC because they’re so easy to use. (C’mon, I can use a MAC, and I’m pretty computer illiterate.) And in showing Mom my nice new big computer, I told her to play. That she couldn’t hurt it. And she found the PhotoBooth. It wokrs just like those ones in the mall. It opens, the built in camera shows you you, on the screen, and when you click the mouse it snaps a shot. So this is my Mom’s picture. (Oh, and Mom hates having her picture taken)

So, three guesses where I get my attitude from.

  2. Congratulations on the new computer. One thing you can do to help out your iBook is to rebuild the desktop. It’s an old Mac solution to a sluggish hard drive. Hold down the Option and Apple (alt) keys while restarting the computer. Before your normal desktop appears, a dialog box will come up asking you if you want to rebuild the desktop file. Click OK and let it do it’s thing. What it’s doing is clearing away all of the fragments of deleted files that have been left behind on the hard drive.
