LUST;
1) An intense or unrestrained sexual craving.
2) An overwhelming desire or craving: a lust for power.
Intense eagerness or enthusiasm: a lust for life.
Obsolete. Pleasure; relish.
I love lust.
I love that feeling I get when I meet someone new, and the chemistry is crackling and lust simmers in my viens. The thrill of learning more. Learning what turns him on, what turns me on. Just how good we can be together.
But, there’s more to lust than sexual cravings. I also love the thrill of living. I have a healthy lust for new and adventurous things. At least I always have. Recently I’ve had a few poelple tell me they love my lust fro life, and it’s sort of made me sit back and go, “Wow, they’re seeing something I don’t really feel anymore.” Because I don’t really feel that lust anymore. And I can’t pin point when I stopped feeling it.
But I do know, I’m going looking for it again. Life is short, and it’s meant to be lived. One of the things I’m doing today is creating a new list of things I want to experience before I die. I did this about 15 years before, and my list has 30 things on it. Out of those 30 things, I’ve accomplished more than half, and realized that I really have no interest in a quarter of them.
Here’s some of the things from my old list that I’ve accomplished.
~ Travel to Ireland
~ Travel to Africa
~ Swim with Wild Dolphins.
~ Write a novel.
~ Lose weight.
~ Buy a house. (ok, I bought a Condo, I’m counting it.)
So it’s time to write a new list, because I don’t ever want to not have one.
Here’s a couple of things on my list.
~ Learn to play a musical instrument
~ have a dog.
~ fall in love.
~ be healthy, and feel healthy.
~ Get a brand new car. Or a classic camaro. π
Must think on it some more.
What about you? Have you ever written a list of what you wanted to accomplish in your life? What was on it?
No, but that’s a really good idea!
My list is short and sweet. Buy a new car. Go back to college and earn my Criminal Justice degree. Become a private detective. Travel to Scotland and France. So far I’ve bought a new car. But it’s a start.
Hey Sasha! What a great topic. I used to have a list, years ago too…accomplished some of it, like…
-get married
-have a baby
-have a big house
-nice new car
-have money
Did all those, lost all of them too, except the only thing that mattered, the baby!!
Hmm, my new list…
-travel
-get six figure book deal
-have sex
-have sex with Viggo
-lose 10 more pounds, then have sex with Viggo
-get another tattoo
-learn to play piano
-learn to paint
-learn to do graphic art
That’s it for the next five years…LOL
My list at the begining of the year. I may not know about the "making a diff in someone’s life" one for a while, but I think I will have knocked the rest out by the holidays.
Yay me!
– Have someone miss me when I am not around
– Make a difference in someone’s life.
– Make myself smile once a day.
– Stand up to someone who intimidates the Hell out of me.
– Take my mom on a trip.
No, but I should. I have lists in my head about what I want to accomplish but a little bird told me that when it’s written down it becomes more likely to being true. May have to try this.
Diana~ Get on it, Girl! π
Dianna~ I met you!! π
Paula~ That’s a great start on some big goals! Good luck!
Vivi~ Nice list..I might add a coupl eof those to my own. Care to share Viggo? π
Os~ I miss you. We used to chat and I haven’t had an email, or anything from you in a while. *pout*
Eve~ Ireland is beautiful…and well worth rowing there for! π
Grace~ I believe in writing lists. I usually lose them after I wrote them, but I love writing them.
I see a few of those goals happening for you in the next year , Beth!! π
Okay Sasha! One day you can have the top half, and I’ll have the bottom, and then we’ll switch! π
Wonderful idea. I’m going to have to think about this list. Hmm…
:doze:I don’t have a printed list but I know I want to see more of Canada. To meet more of the people I have met on the internet…
When I was 15 I knew I wanted to marry a farmer and have babies, I did that when I was 18, my last baby is almost 25. We own our own small farm, we have always had at least one dog sometimes more, Hubby’s truck was new when we bought it.
I am healthy and feel good most of the time.
I’ve only done 1 thing on my list; one can’t be done now; the third I still plan on.
1. Get a college degree (did it)
2. Get married and have a baby by age of 30 (oh well, that time’s passed)
3. Go to Ireland (Even if I have to row my own boat).
Oooh, good topic. I have mental lists, but I’ve never written them down.
My life has changed so much in the past year that many of my goals have changed too.
– Get a print publishing contract
– See my books at B&N, Amazon, and Borders
– Lose 30 pounds (again)
– See my children graduate college
– Be proud of who I am, what I am, and be able to accept that not all people will like me
– Meet Sasha in person π
I have those lists!
It’s funny, though, once you cross something off the list, you always end up adding something. Like when I crossed off, write a book, I added, sell a book. π
You are a gal after my own heart! I’ve always had ‘my list’. So far I’ve managed to..
1.write the novel
2.learn to play guitar
3.start a family.
I don’t know if I’ll manage to be trilingual by the time I’m thirty (old goal), but if my husband would start speaking Spanish to me in bed I’m sure it would help, lol! (And I’m sure it would help my lust as well. Talk about hard to maintain the lust, try being married. Geez, what a horrible thing to say, but it’s kind of true for me. I’m sure having a less than 2 year old is part of the problem :)!)
Did the list of things I haven’t done, but forgot my new list of things to do. 1. finish a book – I’ve finished one but I don’t like it so am in the process of re-writing it. I’ve been posting it on my blog every Monday as incentive to work on it. 2. Get published. This of course means I must do #1 first π Technicalities.
I kept my list, but it is in storage. One of the items was to finish a novel. Another was to get it published. Another was to climb Denali… so far I’ve changed my mind on that. Need to accomplish the get healthy enough to climb that mountain first!
