Meet my new baby. He/she needs a name. I’m not even 100% sure BB (Baby Bronco ) is a boy or girl yet. I could stick with BB, but I want a real name for this baby, so help me out.
Travelling is in my blood. I’ve done a lot of it. Not only did we get transferred around Western Canada for my Dads work while I was growing. up, but my mom’s chosen work also required a lot of travel. Mom was a dog breeder and trainer. And I was Mom’s chosen road partner when she had to go to trials, shows, or delivering dogs anywhere.
We had this blue panel van that my Dad had built a bench pull out in, that also fit four crates for dogs. As a family we did a few trips in that thing, but Mom and I definitely did more. I thinks she liked me being along with her because I would talk and keep her awake when she got tired. Also because I would sing along with her to her favourite music. Which means I grew up listening to Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. “On the road again” has been our theme song for longer than I can remember.
I can remember falling asleep in the back and waking up with the van pulled over, and no mom, but lights flashing in the night air. Yep, Mom had gotten pulled over for speeding. Good to know I come by my lead foot honestly.
Anyway, there’s something I’ve always wanted to do but haven’t. That is to do a cross country road trip. Well, cross-nation actually. I want to go across Canada, down to the USA, across the states then back up to Canada. I’ve decided I am going to do it.
Right now life is complicated. Covid and family obligations are keeping me home for now, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get ready. That means having a dependable, tough, roomy vehicle to do this trip in. Something that can go pretty much anywhere because I don’t like boundaries, and I can sleep in the back if I want/need to, but is also decent on fuel and dependable. Plus, I fell in love with the Bronco Sports as soon as I saw them so this is my excuse to buy one.
Step One in getting ready for my cross-nation road trip. Get the vehicle. DONE. Now I need to name him/her.
Help me out people. I’ve had a couple of suggestions, and I even like some, but nothing has hit the right note yet. If you can think of one, please let me know here in the comments. If your name is the one that fits, I’ll send you free book!
